There is still movement on the Boston bench, among Joe Mazzulla’s assistants, since Aaron Miles, present in Massachusetts for two seasons, should soon join the Pelicans, slips us Andscapeafter giving an agreement in principle to the New Orleans franchise.
The latter (40) arrived on the Celtics bench in 2021, at the same time as Ime Udoka. The two men have known each other for several years, since they had even played together in the G-League.
Prior to his Boston experience, Aaron Miles cut his teeth at the Warriors, starting out coaching the G-League team in 2017, before becoming Steve Kerr’s assistant two years later to take care of player development.
It is also in California that Miles rubbed shoulders with Willie Green, the current coach of the Pelicans, who was then an assistant to the Warriors. So as for his adventure in Boston with Udoka, the former ephemeral NBA player (19 games with Golden State in 2005/2006) will not arrive in unknown territory in New Orleans.
