With the trade between Chris Paul and Jordan Poole, the Wizards were able to finalize the transfer of Bradley Beal. And so we know exactly what Washington got back against his All-Star.
Final balance sheet
Phoenix receives: Bradley Beal, Jordan Goodwin and Isaiah Todd
Golden State receives: Chris Paul
Washington receives: Jordan Poole, Landry Shamet, Ryan Rollins and the “second rounds” of the Phoenix Draft in 2024, 2025, 2026, 2027, 2028 and 2030, the “swap” (exchange in the event of a less well-placed choice) of the “first rounds” Draft with Phoenix in 2024, 2026, 2028 and 2030 plus Golden State’s first round (protected Top-20) draft in 2030 as well as a Golden State “second round” in 2027
Even if the Wizards finally got their hands on only one “first round” of Draft, that of the Warriors, heavily protected in addition, they recovered a mountain of Draft choices in the second round and “swap”.
Suffice to say that the Suns have no interest in plunging back into the depths of the league in the short and medium term, because this exchange could violently turn against them.
