The Pacers give up a first round of the Draft to the Nuggets

The rumor had been circulating for several hours and ESPN finally reported that the nuggets were going to be able to draft a player in the first round, tomorrow night.

Indeed, the reigning champions have convinced the Pacers to leave them the 29th choice as well as the 32nd choice of this year, in exchange for the 40th choice of this year and a first round of Draft 2024 (the “least favorable”, obtained in a previous transfer with the Thunder).

The Nuggets are looking for a new rare pearl

Therefore, when Draft 2023, denver will have the 29th, 32nd and 37th choices, whileIndiana will have the 7th, 26th and 40th choices. The Pacers had warned that they would not keep all of their picks.

For the Nuggets, the objective here is to be able to strengthen (or make other transfers?) at a lower cost, when Bruce Brown will already have difficulty in being extended and they will not have much money to spend during “free agency” to fill their bench. And since their leaders are used to having hollow noses in the Draft, it’s a good deal…
