WNBA | Worn by Allisha Gray, the Atlanta Dream brings down the Connecticut Sun

The Atlanta Dream “road trip” is off to a great start! After winning the New York Liberty floor on Tuesday, Tanisha Wright’s players did it again by winning at another league heavyweight: the Connecticut Sun.

However, the Dream was dominated by its opponent in the first half (50-40). But, on returning from the locker room, they started the third quarter with an 11-0 to take the lead. A third act that they will largely win, limiting the Sun to only twelve points (21-12). At the end of a last quarter and a tight extension, Atlanta will manage to win the victory at the end of the suspense (92-88).

“Two great consecutive victories. I observed the progress of the players. It was hardness, from the heart. Nothing else mattered, it was enough to go for the win” underlines the coach, Tanisha Wright. “At the end of the day, you want to see where you stand against the best teams in the league”.

If there is one performance to take away from this match, it is that ofAllisha Gray, who signed his career high with 27 points on 10/14 shooting, plus 10 rebounds. In addition, the 28-year-old is having her best season so far, with 18 points, 6.3 rebounds and 2.8 assists at 47% shooting.

“We wanted to win here” says Allisha Gray. “Two big wins like that really boost your confidence. For me, the most important thing is to stay focused, to keep playing hard and working to win.”.

The Atlanta Dream (4 wins – 5 losses) thus ends a series of seven consecutive defeats against the Connecticut Sun, their last victory against this opponent dating back to 2020. After bringing down the Liberty and the Sun, the players of Tanisha Wright will end their four-game road trip in Indiana and then Dallas.
