Already that the Houston Astros do not have exactly the season hoped for because of the lack of depth on the mound, another injury comes to change the game.
The club has announced that starter Lance McCullers Jr. will not be able to start this year after undergoing tendon surgery.
The club’s CEO, Dana Brown, announced it.
McCullers Jr. had yet to pitch this season and he had suffered a setback in his rehabilitation process. After all, he was supposed to launch this year.
There, his start to the 2024 season is compromised, he who should start throwing again in November.
The club will therefore not be able to count on his return to help a rotation that needs it. Instead, we will surely have to move on the transaction market.
Imagine if they had kept Justin Verl – oh never mind.
Note that the Royals also announced bad news since Vinnie Pasquantino, their best hitter, will have shoulder surgery. His season is also over.
