Kenny Atkinson met the Raptors

Among the six teams looking for a coach, Toronto is the only franchise to still not have found happiness. Among the serious candidates to replace Nick Nurse, we find Sergio Scariolo, Jordi Fernandez or Darko Rajakovic. To its European technicians, a new name must be added, and according to Mark Steinit is Kenny Atkinson.

His one and only experience as a coach was on the bench of the Nets between 2016 and 2020. A rather successful adventure since he had managed to create an identity and develop a core of young talents, with the key to qualifying for the playoffs in 2019 Cut off some time after the arrivals of Kevin Durant and Kyrie Irving, Kenny Atkinson had accepted a position as assistant coach at the Clippers, then in Steve Kerr’s staff at Golden State, where he has been working since 2021.

Last summer, he was offered the position of coach of the Hornets, which he accepted at first, before finally retracting, preferring to stay at the Warriors, alongside Steve Kerr.
