An internal promotion for the position of GM at the Clippers?

The recent departure of Michael Winger to the Wizards has left a void in the Clippers organization chart. The franchise of Los Angeles has indeed more GM, even if it is not a very problematic situation since it is especially Lawrence Frank, the president, who manages the current affairs in terms of sports decisions.

This is probably why, after Marc Steinthe leaders of the Clippers could offer a promotion to Trent Redden, the assistant GM of Michael Winger, in order to occupy this position.

As explained The Athletic, with the departure of the GM for the franchise of the capital, Lawrence Frank should now rely heavily on the ex-assistants of Winger, Mark Hughes and Redden. An internal solution therefore seems an ideal solution for the president, with a new GM he already knows.

There remains an attractive but not yet confirmed track: see the Clippers try to convince Bob Myers, who has just left Golden State, to stay in California and join Los Angeles to carry the Clippers project in the next few years, between their move in 2024 and winning the title.
