For a few starts, things have been going quite well for Chris Sale. The Red Sox pitcher manages to regain his former form, which made him a star.
But yesterday he got a reminder: his body is aging and he can’t always be the same pitcher he was in his prime.
He can still be good, but he has to be careful.
All that to say that during last night’s game, Chris Sale had a sore shoulder. The Sox didn’t take a chance and opted to take him out of the game in the fourth inning.
During the game, which Boston won 8-2 at home against the Reds, manager Alex Cora went to his pitcher a few times because his velocity was down.
He chose to take it out to be responsible.
We know Sale is going to have an MRI today to check the extent of the damage. Is going on the disabled list a big possibility?
That still remains to be seen.
Due to his injury history, the Red Sox want to be on the safe side. Even if Sale always wants to throw more than more, he cannot put his club in unnecessary trouble.
Sox fans hold their breath.
- Carlos Correa is still injured.
- The Brewers will not trade Corbin Burnes this year.
- What a great career that of Dusty Baker.
- Jordan Walker is back on top.
