Already helmed in February by Marcus Smart, Malcolm Brogdon and Derrick White, Payton Pritchard had expressed the wish to be traded during the last “trade deadline”. More than three months later, at the end of a season closed at the gates of the NBA Finals, his personal situation has not changed.
The point guard had to settle for a place at the end of the bench with only a few crumbs to eat in the playoffs, despite a last outing with 30 points, 14 rebounds and 11 assists in the last game of the regular season, in 46 minutes against Atlanta.
According to The AthleticPayton Pritchard would therefore have returned to the charge with his leaders, asking them to find him a way out via an exchange, the player no longer considering his future in Massachusetts.
There is no doubt that suitors would knock on the door of the Celtics if they decided to let him go.
