The MVP of the night | Jayson Tatum, aggression and “gravity”

It was obviously Derrick White who performed the most important action of the night, saving the Celtics’ season with this tap at the buzzer which offered Game 7 to Boston in this conference final. But on the whole meeting, it was Jayson Tatum who had the most impact for the troop of Massachusetts.

However, everything was not perfect for the winger, like his 0/8 from 3-pointers or his complicated last quarter, with 6 points scored at 1/6 in shooting, since he s several times broke his teeth on the Florida wall.

But for most of the game, he was the one who kept the Celtics in the lead, as Jaylen Brown struggled with foul issues. More in motion, more aggressive towards the circle, he thus hurt the Heat’s defense behind his back, collecting a nice skewer of free throws.

He completes the game with 31 points (8/22 shooting), 12 rebounds, 5 assists and 2 blocks. It is the seventh time in these playoffs that he has exceeded 30/10/5, equaling LeBron James’ record during the 2018 playoffs…

Interestingly, its impact is felt indirectly on Derrick White’s buzzer beater. Because it was because Erik Spoelstra and the Heat had decided to use two players to prevent him from receiving the ball that he lacked people to block the defensive rebound. Proof of his aggressiveness of the evening, Jayson Tatum threw himself into the offensive rebound, and he could have been the hero of the day, if the ball had bounced on the other side. Ultimately, the laurels are for Derrick White, but the important thing is that Boston has the opportunity to make history on Monday night.
