Jadeveon Clowney ready to return to Houston
It’s been 9 years since the Texans selected Jadeveon Clowney (DE) in first position in the Draft. And it’s been four years since he left Houston to play in Seattle, Tennessee and Cleveland. Now free, he would have nothing against a return to his roots. He even confirmed to KRIV-TV that his representatives have spoken with Texans management.
” It would be nice. My whole family is there. But friends too. […] You never know what will happen. I’m a big fan of their new coach (DeMeco Ryans, editor’s note). »
Clowney remains highly irregular. Last season, he managed only 2 sacks in 12 games, while he nevertheless benefited from the presence of Myles Garrett on the other side of the defensive line of the Browns.
Since joining the league in 2014, he has never managed to top 9.5 sacks in a season. It was in 2017. Very far from the immense promises during his selection.
Miami and Los Angeles in line for Super Bowl LXI
The February 2026 Super Bowl is set to fall into the hands of San Francisco. The following ? The Rams and Los Angeles applied a few weeks ago. But they are not alone in the ranks. According to the Palm Beach Post, Miami would also like to host Super Bowl LXI, which will therefore be played in February 2027.
Miami hosted the Super Bowl in 2020, and Los Angeles in 2022, so it seems more logical to see it again in Florida first.
As a reminder, the Big Game will take place in Las Vegas in 2024 and New Orleans in 2025.
injuries
– Here we go again for Lane Johnson (OT, Eagles)! The lineman announced on Twitter that he has officially received the green light from doctors to return to play. He suffered from a torn adductor which required surgery three months ago.
– William Jackson III (CB) has recovered from his back injury and several teams would be interested in his services. That’s what he assures. The 30-year-old would take his time to choose his destination as best he could. Jackson was cut by the Steelers in March. Chosen in the first round by the Bengals, he signed a big contract with the Commanders in 2021, before being sent to Pittsburgh last season. (Click2Houston)
– Mike Onwenu (OG, Patriots) should not be able to participate in spring training. He had ankle surgery during the offseason, following an injury in the last game of the 2022 regular season. The hope now is to get him back in time for the next campaign.
Transactions
The main signings of the day: Nick Williams (DT, Chargers), Greg Van Roten (OG, Raiders), Jacob Martin (DE, Texans)
In short
– Nick Boyle is changing jobs. The former Ravens tight end, who suffered a very serious knee injury in November 2020, has decided to reinvent himself. ESPN caught up with him as he attempts the transition to long snapper. He learned this role in high school and therefore tries to return to it. Tested by the Steelers during their rookie minicamp, he has not yet obtained a contract.
– For the first time in the 64-year history of the franchise, the Patriots have hired a woman to a position of Scout. Her name is Maya Ana Callender. In 2021, she had participated in the training camp of the Eagles.
– This will not improve the ratings of Commanders with players. According to the Washington Post, the franchise has confirmed that it has reinstated a doctor they fired who was suspended by the NFL in 2021. At the time, he agreed to a deal with the U.S. drug enforcement agency to avoid prosecution. He was accused of obtaining drugs illegally before distributing them to players.
AJ Brown narrowly avoids crash
Saturday, AJ Brown (WR, Eagles) participated in a bike race organized by the Eagles. A charity day to raise awareness of autism issues. Everything was going well and the receiver was sharing the party on Instagram, when the video cut off with what looked like a fall.
Fortunately more fear than harm.
“I’m fine everyone. Someone ran the stop sign. I did not fall off the bike. I just dropped my phone and changed direction. Take care. »
A good reflex, and a good opportunity to remember that the road belongs to everyone. Love each other regardless of the mode of transportation.
4,500 people took part in the cycling, walking and running activities offered by the Eagles. They raised $6.2 million.
AJ Brown was almost taken out by a vehicle on his bike ride this morning while participating in the Eagles Autism Challenge race, via his IG Live. 😬
He seems to fully okay, just a close call.pic.twitter.com/h8aON1yufl
