Joe Mazzulla doesn’t understand Celtics ‘disconnect’

Erik Spoelstra defended him before Game 3 but Boston’s performance during this meeting further weakened Joe Mazzulla. The Celtics have exploded in Miami and are heading full speed ahead for the holidays.

And as nothing is going well in Boston, the young coach from Massachusetts is turned on by fans and analysts.

“The most important thing to remember is that the Miami Heat are simply better prepared” explained Eddie House, elder of the house, on NBC Sports. “Damn, let me tell you this: I feel like the Celtics have let their coach down. Let’s say things as they are. I feel like these guys don’t believe in what their coach is doing. We have already seen this in many other clubs. »

Joe Mazzulla: “I just didn’t prepare them to play. I just didn’t execute the right game plan.”

For Eddie House, the Celtics have already given up and the “sweep” is getting ready…

“I don’t think they really believe in Joe Mazzulla. If you trust the leader of your team, when it comes to a coach, his message is carried through the superstars. The lack of effort, the lack of quick play defense, to me it looks like a team that is already defeated. »

After the meeting, Joe Mazzulla in any case fully assumed his responsibilities, taking this humiliating setback in Miami for him, explaining that he had not found the keys to preparing his team as well as possible.

“I just didn’t prepare them to play. I just didn’t execute the right game plan. It’s my job to make sure they’re connected and ready to play, and I didn’t.”

Is there a disconnection with and between its players?

“Yeah, that’s where I have to be better, understanding what this team needs to make sure they’re connected, physical and united the moment they step onto the pitch.”he replies.

As for knowing the reason for this disconnection, Joe Mazzulla wonders: ” I’m not sure of it… “
