It is this week, a few days before the “lottery”, that we should know the new coach of the Pistons.
As indicated by The Athleticand in accordance with what ESPN already said at the end of April, Charles Lee (assistant to the Bucks), Kevin Ollie (Overtime Elite coach, ex-UConn coach) and Jarron Collins (Pelicans assistant) remain the favorites to take over from Dwane Casey at the head of the Michigan franchise.
This time, we can even say that no other additional candidate will claim the position of “head coach” of Detroit, as Charles Lee, Kevin Ollie and Jarron Collins are now the three finalists. They will meet team owner Tom Gores later this week.
As a reminder, the Pistons come out of four consecutive seasons with a maximum of 30% victories but, in addition to the presence of Cade Cunningham, Jaden Ivey, James Wiseman, Killian Hayes, Jalen Duren, Isaiah Stewart or Marvin Bagley III, they will have the possibility to draft once again very high this year, since they have a 14% chance of recovering the first choice in the Draft (and therefore perhaps Victor Wembanyama)…
