Aaron Boone Costs Yankees Victory

Since Aaron Judge and Giancarlo Stanton are out of the New York Yankees roster due to injuries, it’s been a lot tougher offensively for the New York roster.

This is one of the reasons why the Bronx Bombers had lost six of their last eight games before starting their duel against the Cleveland Guardians last night (Monday).

When the offense is not working at full speed, the pitchers must therefore take matters into their own hands. And that’s what Domingo German did in yesterday’s game. In the ninth inning, German still hadn’t given the Guardians any runs and the Yankees had a 2-0 lead.

After striking out the first batter of the ultimate inning, Steven Kwan, the right-hander allowed a hit to Amed Rosario. German had just 88 shots in his arm at the time.

Manager Aaron Boone then came out of the Yankees dugout to replace his pitcher who was IN FULL CONTROL of the situation.

The following? An epic rout from reliever Clay Holmes, which ended in a victory for the Guardians.

Even if the skipper’s decision is not justifiable in ANY case, he tried in vain to find excuses.

Yeah, I just thought it was the right decision to make. Obviously that didn’t work, so this is falling on me. Domingo was great, but I wasn’t going to leave him with the top roster coming back to the plate. It seemed like the right decision to make at the time.

Yes Aaron, it falls on you because you caused the loss of yours. German had dominated the top roster throughout the game and there was no sign of that changing. Why give life to a club that has had none all evening?

This is not the first time that Boone has cost his team the victory and he will have to be accountable for his decisions very quickly. Not at the end of the season, not in two years. IMMEDIATELY.

We all know that advanced statistics geniuses have a lot of power in an organization, but a manager can put on his pants and make the right decision. And Boone doesn’t. Never.

His time in the Bronx is over.
