Trea Turner never received an offer from the Dodgers

Over the past few years, the Dodgers have had some great shortstops. We can think of Corey Seager, Manny Machado and Trea Turner.

The three signed contracts elsewhere for at least $300 million thereafter.

But this year it’s different. With the injury of Gavin Lux, the shortstop is a real revolving door and many players sit there.

Even Mookie Betts gets something out of it.

It might have been different if the Dodgers had managed to retain the services of Trea Turner, who was the club’s shortstop in 2022.

But for that, he would have had to put an offer on the table. The main interested party claims to have never received one from his team of 2021 and 2022. He feels that it was never really an option.

If that had been the case, he would have clearly considered signing her. The Dodgers would have been among the finalists for his services, he said.

Recall that he received a $ 342 million offer from the Padres, who instead signed Xander Bogaerts when Turner told them no.

But why not submit an offer? In my opinion, we knew so much that he wanted to return to the East that it was a waste of time. He accepted $42 million less in Philly than in San Diego…

But above all, we know that the Dodgers have agreed to take a monetary step back in order to make some room for a certain Shohei Ohtani.

In my eyes, the LA team must be the favorite to sign the Angels’ pitcher and hitter of choice next winter. Signing Turner might have complicated the case.

I don’t think the Phillies are going to complain about the Dodgers giving up on Trea Turner, anyway.

  • Jose Berrios and Alex Verdugo cost the Blue Jays the game against the Red Sox.
  • Fernando Tatis Jr. was well received in San Diego.
  • What do you think of the Nationals celebration?
