Duncan Robinson, the ghost

To everyone’s surprise, the Heat lead 2-1 against the Bucks in this first round of the playoffs. If the absence of Giannis Antetokounmpo played a big role in the 3rd round, Erik Spoelstra’s men are even more affected than their opponents, with Tyler Herro’s hand injury and Victor Oladipo’s new serious knee injury . While Jimmy Butler is evolving at a sensational level on this series, other players are responding. Among them, Duncan Robinsonyet removed from the rotation for many months this season.

“Yes, this season has been tumultuous, with ups and downs, both personally and collectively” recalled Duncan Robinson. “That’s the good thing about this time of year, you just have to do whatever you can to help the team win”.

A more than effective return

As expected, he took advantage of Tyler Herro’s injury in Game 1 to get back into Erik Spoelstra’s plans. In Game 2, he scored 14 points in 26 minutes. But his best performance came in Game 3 with 20 points at 7/9 shooting including 5/6 from 3-pointers, allowing the Heat to easily win 121-99 and thus take the advantage in the series. The team’s second leading scorer behind Jimmy Butler, the former starter has shown that he can do great damage from afar.

Moreover, he has a pretty crazy success rate on shots: 68% (13/19) including 77% at 3-pointers (10/13) during the first three games of the series! “Maybe you haven’t seen it, but I feel like I’ve worked to stay ready for those times… I control what I can control, and then when I have opportunities, I highlight my best assets to try to make the most of them” concluded Duncan Robinson.

Since this reaction, the Heat have lost Victor Oladipo, and that means that Robinson will still recover playing time…
