Paris: The NFL suspends five players, the Lions not spared

Often considered lax in its suspensions, the NFL does not lack severity when it comes to money. Five players (including four from the Detroit Lions) pinned for betting on NFL games will have bitter experience according to information from Ian Rapoport (NFL Media).

Of those five players, the most notable name is Jameson Williams, a Lions wide receiver selected in the first round of the draft a year ago and missing much of the 2022 season through injury. His season will be shortened again as he receives a six-game suspension. Same suspension for his teammate Stanley Berryhill, also receiver.

Less fortunate, receiver Quintez Cephus and safety CJ Moore are suspended indefinitely, but at least for the entire 2023 season. In response, the Lions have already announced that they have fired the two players.

Shaka Toney (Commanders defensive end) is also suspended indefinitely. The franchise of the capital has not yet communicated.
