Chet Holmgren’s rehabilitation is complete

As the Thunder has succeeded in its season, even failing at the gates of the playoffs, heavily beaten by the Wolves in the second “play-in”, we tend to forget that it evolved without its first round of Draft 2022.

As a reminder, Chet Holmgren had a white season, following his rupture of a ligament in the midfoot of his right foot, during a summer league match in August.

Eight months after his operation, where is he? “I have completed rehabilitation”, he announces . “And now I am progressing to five-on-five and eliminating all the restrictions that have been imposed on me so far. »

The former Gonzaga, who will follow the instructions of the franchise for the future, will spend his summer between Oklahoma City and Los Angeles. A possible participation in the Summer League is not yet confirmed.

Then he will begin his career in the NBA, after spending a year at the heart of the group, watching his teammates on the side for long months.

“It’s been great to be able to watch the other teams, their different styles and their different players, and take whatever I can from that, absorb all that knowledge so I can use it in the future,” explains Chet Holmgren. “I was in the front row too, to see Shai Gilgeous-Alexander and the others. »

And other Thunder players can’t wait to have him on their side.

“I do everything I can on the ball carrier, but sometimes I defend against great players and sometimes I get beaten” explains in particular Lu Dort. “Jaylin Williams did an excellent job of securing my back, causing all the forceful passages possible. But Chet is a rim protector, you know he’s going to clean up a lot of things under the circle, and that’s something I’m looking forward to.”
