Without their holders, the Sixers offer themselves the Hawks after extension

Despite several notable absentees, Philadelphia stood up to Atlanta in a fairly rhythmic start to the game. Despite everything, Trae Young’s teammates lead by a short head (15-11). On a 3-point shot, Danuel House Jr. validates the good start of the game for his team, allowing the Sixers to take a 4-point lead (26-22). Doc Rivers players conclude the first quarter in front of the score (32-31).

The Hawks start the second quarter perfectly with a 9-0. On a distant basket, Bogdan Bogdanovic allows his team to take an 8-point lead (40-32). The Sixers are overwhelmed, and Quin Snyder’s players take the opportunity to make the break (46-34). But now, under the leadership of Montrezl Harrell, Philadelphia reacts by returning to only 5 lengths (51-46). Atlanta still finished the quarter cleanly, and returned to the locker room with a 10-point lead (63-53).

Upon returning from the locker room, the gap stabilized around 10 points. On a layup, Danuel House Jr. brings his own to 8 points (78-70). As often this season, the Hawks are inconsistent, showing many different faces. The Sixers therefore seize the opportunity, and return to only 2 points on a 3-point basket from Mac McClung. At the start of the 4th quarter, Atlanta only leads by 4 points (90-86).

On a 3-point shot, John Collins gives the Hawks a 7-point lead (107-100). But once again, Philadelphia is back, and the gap is only 2 points with less than 3 minutes remaining (112-110). Jaden Springer equalized, before Trae Young restored the advantage to his team 38 seconds from the end (119-117). Jaden Springer, will equalize again in the last seconds to snatch the extension (119-119).

Philadelphia starts the overtime with a lot more bite, and quickly takes a 6-point lead (127-121). While the Hawks had returned to 2 points, Georges Niang assassinated them with an ultra clutch 3-point shot to give the victory to the Sixers (136-131).

WHAT YOU MUST REMEMBER

– Sixers vs. Nets. If the Philadelphia B team performed very well on the Atlanta floor, the main thing is elsewhere. Indeed, the Sixers now know their opponent in the first round of the playoffs. This is the Nets, who have definitely validated their 6th place tonight.

– Heat vs. Hawks. With the Raptors’ loss on the Celtics’ floor, Quin Snyder’s players are guaranteed to finish in 8th place in the East. Now we know the posters of the “play-in” in the Eastern Conference. With a secure 8th place, Atlanta will face Miami, 7th. A boiling poster that will take place in Florida. The winner will have the heavy task of challenging Boston in the first round of the playoffs.

TOPS/FLOPS

✅ George Niang. Author of 24 points, he allowed his people to win by being very skilful: 9/13 in shooting including 5/7 from 3-pointers.

✅ Jalen McDaniels. Solid game for him, with a double-double in the key: 24 points and 11 rebounds.

✅ Shake Milton. With the absences of James Harden and Tyrese Maxey, he took matters into his own hands with 15 points and 16 assists!

✅Jaden Springer. The MVP of the G-league Finals was very good, especially at the end of the 4th quarter, allowing the Sixers to snatch the extension. He finished with 19 points at 8/13 shooting including 2/3 from 3-pointers.

✅ Trae Young. He scored 27 points and provided 20 assists, but it wasn’t enough.

⛔️ The Hawks. Lack of seriousness and far too much relaxation against the B or even C team of the Sixers.
