Alek Manoah responds to Alex Verdugo’s comments about him

We can say that Alex Verdugo is having a big media week.

Indeed, after claiming that the Boston Red Sox confounded the skeptics following their two victories against the Baltimore Orioles (I wonder what he thinks of his team’s two losses against the Pittsburgh Pirates), he then went after Toronto Blue Jays pitcher Alek Manoah, alleging he was disrespectful to the game taunting his opponents.

And it will not have taken long before the main interested party responds to the words of his opponent.

Coming from him? I don’t care.

It has the merit of being clear. Manoah is not white as snow, however, having already had, among other things, trouble with Gerrit Cole in the past and often flirting with the limit of the acceptable.

Although he needs those emotions to perform, as he himself states, the big right-hander may have to balance the odds between being competitive and respecting his opponent.

The line is thin and not always easy to draw, but he still has plenty of time to find his balance.

We can therefore expect sparks in a month when the Jays and the Sox will meet for the first time this season at Fenway Park in Boston starting May 1st. In this series of four encounters, the chances are excellent that the two protagonists will clash at one point or another.
