After a five-minute observation round (12-12), Atlanta falls asleep, and Minnesota flies away to take a 14-point lead (31-17). Wolves lead by 11 points at the end of the first quarter (40-29).
Atlanta is not there at all, and Minnesota drives the point home by taking a 20-point lead (51-31). Despite the good will of Trae Young, author of 20 points, the Hawks are unable to make a defensive stop. Wolves roll out, and everyone joins in the fun. Anthony Edwards’ teammates return to the locker room with a 24-point lead (76-52).
After the break, the scenario does not change, Minnesota is well above its evening opponent. With a defense that takes water on each opposing offensive, Atlanta does not even manage to make a run. Wolves lead 106-85 at the end of the third quarter.
Atlanta started the last quarter well by returning to 16 points (111-95). But behind, Minnesota tightens the screws again, and kills all suspense. Rudy Gobert and his band easily dominate the Hawks 136-115.
WHAT YOU MUST REMEMBER
– Hawks phantom defense. Quin Snyder’s men seemed to have no motivation. Minnesota scored on almost every attack without really forcing. Result: 136 points collected at home! A logical price inflicted by Anthony Edwards and his family, who did not hesitate to exploit the huge boulevards in the defense of the Hawks throughout the match. The attitude of the players was all the more worrying as there was no reaction either after the multiple time-outs or when they returned from the locker room.
– The good operation of Minnesota. Not content to have shown a conquering face from start to finish on the Hawks’ floor, the Wolves achieved the big blow of the evening at the accounting level. They thus take advantage of the defeats of Dallas and Utah to seize 7th place in the West alone. In a Western conference where the race for the playoffs / play-in is a game of musical chairs, each victory is worth gold.

⛔️ Dejounte Murray. Expected to support Trae Young, he missed his subject with a 5/15 in shooting.
⛔️ Bogdan Bogdanovic. An ordeal evening for him where he didn’t put anything in it. He finished with 2 points at 1/8 shooting…
