Absent since February 2 due to knee pain, Kyle Lowry will make his return tonight in Orlando after missing the Heat’s last 15 games. Good news for the player and the franchise, as the uncertainty hovered around the physical form of the former Raptor.
In his absence, Erik Spoelstra’s men have a negative record of 7 wins for 8 defeats. Even if the return of Kyle Lowry is expected, the latter is statistically having a very disappointing season with 12 points, 4.3 rebounds and 5.3 assists on average per game at only 39.6% shooting success.
But now, with him in his ranks, the Heat finds a profile of leader that he no longer had in store. Because in the absence of Kyle Lowry, players like Gabe Vincent, Victor Oladipo or even Tyler Herro took over, and tried to lead without succeeding in involving the other teammates around them as much.
The return of Kyle Lowry comes at a crucial time for the Heat, which is fighting to grab a direct qualifying place for the playoffs. After beating Cleveland on Friday, the Heat currently has a record of 36 wins for 32 losses, and is in 7th place in the East, not far from the Nets, 6th (38-29).
