Yuli Gurriel gets along with the Marlins

It’s done: Yuli Gurriel has finally agreed with a formation other than the Houston Astros for the first time since arriving in the United States.

As rumors had it, Gurriel is now a member of the Marlins. However, we are talking about a contract for minors.

We know that it had been rumored for a long time that he was sent to Miami. This is now done for the veteran.

It’s a big chunk leaving the Astros. Yes, the club got their hands on first baseman Jose Abreu a few weeks ago, but it’s still sad for all of his former teammates on the Houston side.

So here he is in a busy infield in Miami. Obviously, this is not great news for Charles Leblanc, who is fighting for a position in the infield in town.

Especially since Jose Iglesias is also going to Miami under the same conditions as Gurriel…

Gurriel therefore finds himself, once again, in the same league as his brother Lourdes. The latter left Toronto for Arizona.

Both could be traded this summer as a rental player because they play in a regular team and are out of contract.

Will Gurriel like Miami, a city where there are many Cuban players like him? Possibly he will find his account there.

He arrives at the Marlins with two World Series rings (2017* and 2022) and he will be able to help young people to surpass themselves in Florida. He has recovered from his “lower body” (knee) injury sustained in the World Series against the Phillies.

  • Phillippe Aumont takes his ease.
  • Another injury in New York (Harrison Bader). What should the club do?
  • Santiago Espinal: an important piece for the Blue Jays.
  • Bryce Harper back on all-star break?
