News continues to be encouraging for Bills safety
Doctors at the University of Cincinnati Hospital Center, where Damar Hamlin is hospitalized, were optimistic on Thursday. NFL Network’s Mike Garofolo reported the player’s first written exchange with his doctors.
“Did we win? Hamlin asked the doctors.
“Yes, you have won the game of life,” the doctors replied.
If he cannot speak yet it is because of his intubation but he is conscious and interacts with his entourage. For Dr. Timothy Pritts this is great news:
“It doesn’t just mean the lights are green. We know he’s back. »
For the doctor, the objective now is to stabilize him in order to extubate him while his neurological functions continue to improve. However, he remains in critical condition. For his colleague, Dr. William Knight, it is too early to know if Damar Hamlin will ever be able to play in the NFL again.
The hospital staff in charge of the player also praised the first aid given on the pitch on Monday evening.
As for the match between the Bills and the Bengals, the Associated Press announces that it will not be replayed. The NFLPA (NFL Players Association) is expected to hold a press conference later on Thursday.
