In the last two places in the Western Conference, the Rockets and the Spurs are closing in on the 13th place Lakers with their successes of the evening. In Houston, it was Kevin Porter Jr who punished the Bulls, while San Antonio pushed back the Jazz thanks to Devin Vassell and Keldon Johnson. In the Western Conference standings, the Pelicans, winners of the Pacers, remain on the heels of the Nuggets.
In the East, the Nets take advantage of their 9th victory in a row to dislodge their evening opponents, the Cavaliers, from the podium and put pressure on the Celtics and the Bucks.
After three wins in a row, the Bulls explode against the outside address of the Rockets. DeMar DeRozan’s teammates take a terrible 17-1 in the 3rd quarter. In a playoff game, the Bulls return to -9 (109-100) at the start of the 4th quarter, but Kevin Porter Jr. plants eight points in a row to give the Rockets a 17-point lead. Chicago will not recover.
The Jazz woke up too late… Led by 11 points two minutes from the end, Utah scored seven points in 33 seconds to pick up the score! On a 3-pointer, Jordan Clarkson even brings his formation to -3 at 30 seconds from the siren. But the Spurs do not tremble, and it is Tre Jones who frees his team with a “floater” that Tony Parker would not have denied.
Celebrated by his fans, but also video messages from league stars, for becoming the all-time leading scorer for the Blazers, Damian Lillard leaves the spotlight to Jusuf Nurkic and Jerami Grant. After a very nasty first half, Portland wakes up, and takes control thanks to Nurkic and Josh Hart. The Hornets foil, and the Blazers take off (+13). LaMelo Ball relaunches his formation with 3-pointers but Nurkic, again, plants his 4th award-winning basket of the evening to allow Portland to spend a quiet end to the game.
