Brandon Drury heads to Los Angeles

Brandon Drury finished last in California for the San Diego Padres. And obviously, he took a liking to his Californian lifestyle.

Why? Because he just signed a two-year contract ($17 million, or $8.5 million per season) with the Los Angeles Angels.

He’s not the first addition the Angels have made this winter. Tyler Anderson, Hunter Renfroe and Gio Urshela were also added to the roster.

All the same.

The former Blue Jays had signed a minor contract with the Reds on the same date last year. That said, his season in Cincinnati and San Diego went well, earning him a Silver Stick for utility players.

Offensively, Mike Trout, Shohei Ohtani and Anthony Rendon will have good players to support them. If they stay healthy, the stars can lead the charge.

With guys like Drury, Renfroe, Urshela, Taylor Ward, Jared Walsh, David Fletcher and Max Stassi, the club have good positional players.

It remains to be seen if the very young rotation of the club will hold up… and if the next generation will not hurt too much.
