Unfortunately, no one is surprised to learn thatAnthony Davis got injured… It’s a habit with him (he only played 76 games in two years…), and last night, in the victory over the Nuggets, the Lakers pivot threw in the towel due to right foot pain. In Olympic form for a month, Davis was injured in the first quarter after a baseline move on Nikola Jokic. There is no twist, but he limps when he comes back to defense, and he will then join the bench.
Examined by the staff, he will play again in the second quarter, before finally giving way to Thomas Bryant when attacking the second half. On the side of the Lakers, it is announced that he will undergo an MRI this Saturday to find out the severity of his injury. ESPN explains that the staff is rather optimistic, and that it is for the moment an embarrassment.
“I don’t want to talk about Anthony’s injury until I know what’s wrong with him” warned Darvin Ham at a press conference. “He passed x-rays in the room, and he will pass additional examinations on Saturday”.
Before leaving, Davis had compiled 10 points, 4 rebounds, 2 assists and 1 block in 17 minutes.
