Matt Ryan and the Lakers, it’s over

Barely came into play, two minutes from the end of the game against the Blazers, he drew (and missed) 3-pointers. It was the last shot of matt ryan with the Lakers. The Athletic reports that the shooter will be cut by the Los Angeles franchise.

It’s already the end of a great adventure for this 25-year-old undrafted player who had managed to find a place in Darvin Ham’s rotation, at least before the integration of Dennis Schröder. Before his appearance tonight, as a form of farewell to the Crypto.com Arena, he had chained four “DNPs” and had hardly played since the first week of November.

The former Celtics player had still stood out before that, shooting 38% from 3-pointers, which made him the team’s second leading shooter behind Austin Reaves. He notably had his hour of glory against the Pelicans, thanks to an improbable shot at the buzzer to snatch an extension.

By releasing him, the Lakers thus offered themselves a place in the workforce, two weeks before the first day (December 15) when players who signed a contract (Lonnie Walker IV, etc.) during the offseason can be exchanged. You have to believe that something is brewing on the Lakers side…
