The euphoria following the Hornets’ second consecutive victory (a first this season) did not last long. Very bad news indeed accompanied Charlotte’s post-match.
Listed as forfeited for a “contusion”, Gordon Hayward finally suffered a fracture in his left shoulder and was therefore forfeited for an indefinite period.
It’s one more big tile for a player who has multiplied major injuries since his trade from the Jazz to the Celtics in the summer of 2017. In particular, there was a fractured tibia and a dislocation of the left ankle which had marked the minds on the occasion of his first match under his new colors, then a broken hand at the end of 2019 and various severe ankle sprains.
The player and his franchise will have to digest this new blow. Additional examinations should make it possible to know more in the days to come on the state of his injury and the duration of his unavailability, even if everyone expects this to be significant.
