NFL in Munich: Roger Goodell ready to extend, Tom Brady under the spell

The NFL took its first steps in Germany on Sunday in a packed Allianz Arena. Next year it will be Frankfurt, then Munich in 2024 and Frankfurt again in 2025.

On Saturday, at a forum dedicated to supporters in Bavaria, Roger Goodell hinted that this program would only be the beginning.

“In our commitment, we will play at least four games over four years (including Sunday’s, editor’s note). I wouldn’t be surprised if the appointment was extended in the near future. »

There are also possibilities to go elsewhere in Germany, since Dusseldorf was also one of the pre-selected cities.

“One of the best footballing experiences of my life”

Tom Brady may not be on the next trip, but obviously the NFL can count on him for promotion. And not just because the Buccaneers won.

“It was one of the best footballing experiences of my life. It means a lot when you’ve spent 23 years in the league, especially when you’re talking about a regular season game. I found the supporters incredible. It was electric from the moment we stepped onto the pitch. At the end of the match, when they sang “Sweet Caroline” and “Country Roads”, it was pretty epic. So everyone who participates in this experience comes away with something. A pretty incredible memory for the rest of their lives. So thank you for having us. Thanks. »

Along the way, Brady became the first NFL player to win in the United States, England, Mexico and Germany.
