No Ben Simmons tonight against the Lakers, and it’s his left knee that creaks again. After missing four games in a row at the start of the month because of his knee, Simmons had returned to the field for three months, and in particular in the victory against the Clippers. But his last performance, very average, had confirmed that he was not at his best physically and it was Jacque Vaughn, after the defeat against the Lakers, who confirmed that his leader still felt pain.
The Nets coach said the medical staff were waiting Monday morning to find out if a new MRI is needed. Depending on the return of the player when he wakes up, a decision will be made.
Now a replacement, Simmons has been a shadow of himself for a week: 3.3 points, 5.7 rebounds and 3 assists on average in three games.
