Injuries follow for former Chargers cornerback
Adam Schefter continues to distribute the bad news. This time, the ESPN reporter announces that Jason Verrett has again injured his Achilles tendon. The franchise has confirmed the information stating that the injury occurred in training. After playing only the first game of a 2021 season interrupted by a ruptured cruciate ligament in his knee, Verrett will not see the pitch in 2022.
Since the start of his career, the cornerback has missed 89 of the 129 games he could have played. You have to go back to 2020 to see him participate in more than 2 games in a season. That year, only a thigh injury prevented him from playing a full season. Talented but much too fragile, not sure that we will see the 31-year-old player again on the NFL grounds, who has already suffered 3 ruptures of the cruciate ligaments as well as two ruptures of the Achilles tendon.
