Monday morning, a few hours from the reception of the Pacers, the Nets are on four defeats in a row. On November 1, the day after the victory against Indiana, the Nets announced the departure of Steve Nash. Two days later, Adam Silver, disappointed by the playmaker’s half-apologies, announces that he is going to meet Kyrie Irving. A few hours later, the latter was finally suspended (at least) for five matches by the Nets!
“It was a unique experience, that’s for sure”, admits Kevin Durant, after the victory against the Hornets, for ESPN. “But a lot of players have had such experiences, faced such adversity before in the league. There are ups and downs in a season, but this is probably the most complicated experience for our group. We must then refocus on basketball. In doing so, we find a little comfort in playing basketball, with the camaraderie, the brotherhood between teammates. It’s important to know that you can get through this by staying united. »

Is this the craziest week of the former Thunder and Warriors player’s long career?
“I have already had strong weeks, with coaches fired, players injured. It’s been a tough week for us. But I have known such before. I’m not going to say it’s normal, but the NBA is a chaotic league, there’s always a lot going on. We’ve been together for six or seven months, so things are bound to happen. »
The 2014 MVP also does not want to forget that, despite the controversies and extra-sporting problems, the Nets have played two games since the departure of Steve Nash and without Kyrie Irving, against Washington and Charlotte, and that they have won the of them. A positive breath for KD, author of 28 and 27 points in these two successes.
“It’s always nice to come back to the game”, recalls the double NBA champion. “As soon as the in-between takes place, all the bullshit is thrown into oblivion. We were impatient to play again, because we had lost several matches in a row. We had to react. It was about bouncing back and I’m happy because we managed to do that, to win those two games. It’s a good thing for our character, for the energy of the team. We must continue. »
