Every NFL Wednesday, the Rookie Diary honors the most prominent rookies. The best offensive beginner, his defensive alter ego, the action, the revelation of the week, the flop… And, to finish, the Power Rooking. Everything, you will know everything about the Rookies!
Offensive Rookie of the Week
Isaiah Likely (139th pick)
6 receptions, 77 yards, 1 touchdown
Deprived of Mark Andrews fairly quickly, the Ravens were able to rely on their beginner tight end to take over. A mission smoothly carried out by Likely. With 6 receptions, he gave solutions to Lamar Jackson as his holder would have done. By scoring at the end of the 3rd quarter, he allowed his team to take control that they would not let go until the end.
Special Mention: Garrett Wilson – WR – New York Jets (10th pick)
After a few discreet weeks, the Jets receiver came out of the box against the Patriots. In the absence of Corey Davis, Wilson played the role of leader of the aerial attack perfectly. With the 100-yard mark passed for the second time in his young career, he only missed a touchdown to be the player of the week.
Defensive Rookie of the Week
Malcolm Rodriguez – LB – Detroit Lions (188 picks)
7 tackles, 1 sack, 1 pass defended, 1 fumble covered
It’s not necessarily the one expected but there is a rookie defender who shines on the front 7 of Detroit. Despite the loss, Rodriguez stood out with some brilliant plays in all defensive areas. Good against the run, he also showed that he knew how to blitz like this sack on Tagovailoa on which he melted like a missile.
action of the week
Romeo Doubs – WR – Green Bay Packers (132nd pick)
It is one of the rare satisfactions of the difficult season of the Packers, the rookie Romeo Doubs continues to gain momentum in the aerial game. On a marvelous pass from Aaron Rodgers, Doubs takes the best of his opposite and achieves a magnificent acrobatic reception in a corner. Enough to make his quarterback smile.

Revelation of the week
Samori Toure – WR – Green Bay Packers (258th pick)
If he only managed one reception (validated) against the Bills, this reception made an impression. Not only did he score a long-range touchdown, but Toure proved a science of layout and separation that Packers receivers are sorely lacking in 2022. Chosen at the very end of the draft, the former Nebraska player received praise from Rodgers and could see his playing time increase in the coming weeks.
Flop of the week
Quay Walker – LB – Green Bay Packers Falcons (22nd pick)
Quite discreet since the start of the season, the Packers’ 1st choice for 2022 stood out for the wrong reasons last weekend. In a context of tension on the ground, the linebacker got carried away after an action by jostling an assistant coach from Buffalo. A gesture of humor which earned him an expulsion from the field, leaving his team already in the hard task of dealing with his lining.
