New York Jets (5-3) – New England Patriots (4-4): 17-22
Little return to earth for the New York Jets. The team suffered the full brunt of the absence of Breece Hall (only 51 yards gained on the ground…) and above all a disastrous part of Zach Wilson (20/41, 355 yards, 2TD, 3INT), author of numerous errors.
Too bad for the locals because the defense has still released a good performance against an attack from the Patriots and Mac Jones (24/35, 194 yards, 1TD, 1INT) still limited.
Very timid attacks
After an exchange of punt, it is the Jets who take off first under the impetus of his duo of Wilson author of a pass and a reception of 54 yards. An important gain which allows behind the Jets to score the first points of the match with a field goal (3-0). New-England copies its rivals from the following series with 8 minutes of possession but only a field goal at the end (3-3).
In a drive perfectly led by Zach Wilson, the Jets quarterback finds Tyler Conklin in the endzone for the first touchdown of the game (10-3). Unfortunately New York does not manage to maintain this offensive rhythm like its quarterback author of a nasty interception.
But Saleh can always count on his defense which makes life difficult for Mac Jones. First by putting him under pressure to intercept him then by blocking him on 4th. The addition could even have been more salty if the referee had not canceled a pick-6 for a surplus of aggressiveness of the defense on Mac Jones… Hard…
With this decision, the visitors have the opportunity to add a fied goal and to be trailing only 6-10 at the break against a potential 17-3…
Zach Wilson sinks
If the second half resumed with a Patriots touchdown (10-13) on a reception from Jakobi Myers, it was mainly marked by errors from Zach Wilson. Twice the quarterback launches incomprehensible interceptions… And when the ball is not intercepted, it is under-dosed as on this 4th attempt played in depth.

Inevitably with all these offensive errors, the Patriots have additional cartridges to score. They will notably add three field goals to lead 22 to 10. New York can consider itself lucky that its defense manages to limit the breakage…
It is also this defensive perf ‘which allows the Jets to still have a little hope when Wilson connects for the 2nd time of the evening with Conklin in the endzone. The locals then return to 17-22 with less than 2 minutes remaining.
