Phillies win Game 1 against Braves

Clearly, the Phillies have no intention of slowing down.

After beating the Cardinals in two games, Rob Thomson’s men didn’t stop there. Against the Braves, they decided to quickly go on the attack in the opposing home.

In the first inning, when there were two outs against the Phillies, they hit four straight to make it 2-0.

It is not in the habits of the house.

Travis d’Arnaud (three RBIs in the game) tried a few times in the game to cut the Phillies’ lead, but with seven runs in five innings, Philly was in control.

The Phillies got hot, however, when Matt Olson hit a three-run homer against the relief in the ninth inning. It was then 7-6.

But the Phillies held on and won the game thanks to a nice catch from Nick Castellanos on the right. The latter hit three hits and redeems a more difficult season and an ordinary history in the playoffs.

The Phillies have therefore snatched the home field advantage from the Braves and they will have, for the rest of things, Aaron Nola and Zack Wheeler on the mound. Nothing too serious.

Tomorrow, the two teams will meet again in Atlanta and on Friday, hostilities will resume in Philadelphia, where there will be a playoff match for the first time since 2011.

It promises, all that.

  • Craig Kimbrel missing from the Dodgers roster.
  • Is Jacob deGrom about to leave?
