Carlos Correa: ‘I am a product and if the Twins want the product, let them come and get it’

We knew that Carlos Correa had signed a contract to become a free agent during the winter of 2022-2023 and now his good end to the season reinforces the desire to get out of his contract.

Does that mean he’s going to leave the Twins? Not necessarily. After all, not every team will want a shortstop – and especially not at the price he will ask.

Asked about the subject, Correa could hardly have been clearer about his desire to become a free agent this winter. Everything indicates that he will get out of his contract.

But does this mean that he will automatically leave the Twins, this club which has just missed the playoffs in favor of the Guardians?

Not necessarily, no. After all, he did like Minnesota in 2022.

According to the player, it is a product and if the Twins wish to buy the product, they only have to ask the price and put the money on the table.

That sentence, let’s face it, was written by Scott Boras, Correa’s agent. That’s exactly the kind of talk a guy like Scott “Greedy” Boras normally says.

I reiterate, but I see Correa signing for Baltimore, an exciting young club that wants to spend and is run by the guy who drafted Correa from Houston. It’s left field, but okay.
