Bosnia and Herzegovina’s victory over Slovenia was a small event in Group B on Sunday. Not only because the reigning European champion was knocked out, but also because it’s Luka Doncic’s first career defeat in a Eurobasket.
Sparkling the day before against Hungary, the Mavericks leader was more in the hard on this match, even if he still offered some flashes of genius. The main concern concerns his state of health, in particular his right wrist, covered with a black strap and which he held several times during the match.
Nothing serious according to Aleksander Sekulic
What also challenges is his 0/8 behind the arc, which could be the sign that his wrist would perhaps bother him more than his coach could think. Asked after the meeting, Aleksander Sekulic has indeed minimized the seriousness of the potential injury of his major player.
“I think he had it yesterday too, I’m not sure. I don’t think it matters. It probably bothers him a little bit, maybe he fell on it or something. I really do not know. It’s not something he mentioned to me. It probably bothers him a little, but I don’t know more about it.”, he indicated.
There is no doubt that the subject is closely followed on the side of the Mavericks, three weeks before the resumption of training in the NBA. The problem is that with this surprise setback for the Slovenians, we will have to fight to the end in Group B and that Slovenia will not be able to allow their leader to breathe even for one match, while the German leader will appear on Tuesday then France the next day. To be continued…
