Ravens: Calais Campbell (DL) returns for two years

At 35, Calais Campbell (DL) chose stability. Free of any contract, the defensive lineman has decided to extend the adventure for the next two seasons with the Ravens according to ESPN.

The new deal, with a base value of $12.5 million, can grow to $16.5 million depending on various bonuses. It should allow Campbell to end his career in Baltimore after spending the last two campaigns with them. He arrived in a trade with the Jaguars in 2020 for a 5th round pick. Since then, the Denver native has recorded 77 tackles, 5.5 sacks and 22 quarterback hits.

“I felt it was the right call,” Campbell said. “I feel like we’ve started something special, and we haven’t finished the job.”

2nd round pick of the Cardinals in 2008, 6 times Pro Bowler, he spent 9 years in the desert before signing a lucrative contract with the Jaguars in 2017, with whom he reached the AFC conference final. His experience will be useful alongside Michael Pierce, Broderick Washington and Justin Madubuike to stabilize the inside of the first defensive curtain.
