Jameis Winston extends two-year contract with New Orleans

The Saints have made their choice.

Presented as possible suitors for Baker Mayfield, the Saints finally chose the option of continuity. So it will be Jameis Winston. According to NFL Network, the New Orleans club has agreed with the former first pick of the draft to extend the adventure for two years against 28 million dollars.

With 21 million guaranteed salary, Winston will not be a luxury replacement until the Saints find better. He’s here to be a starter.

Arrived on a small contract in 2020 after leaving his post to Tom Brady in Tampa Bay, Winston signed an extension for 12 million last year. Unfortunately, after a strong start to the 2021 campaign, the pitcher tore the cruciate ligament in his knee after eight games and finished the year with 1,114 yards for 13 touchdowns and 3 interceptions.
