Officially the quarterback is still under threat of suspension.
While the sports soap opera ended this Friday with the trade of Deshaun Watson to the Browns, on the disciplinary level, it is not over yet. In any case, said NFL spokesman Brian McCarthy shortly after the announcement of the player’s new destination.
“No transaction will impact the NFL’s ongoing and thorough investigation into the serious charges against Deshaun Watson. Or affect his status subject to the collective agreement and personal code of conduct,” McCarthy said.
Not excluding a possible suspension:
“If the league’s investigation finds Watson’s violation of the personal code of conduct, disciplinary action may be taken under that code and the collective agreement. “
As a reminder, the criminal complaints against the player were dropped last week.
