After unsuccessfully trying to trade him in recent days, the Cowboys have released La’el Collins according to NFL Media’s Tom Pelissero. The cut of their right tackle allows them to generate 10 million dollars in their payroll, where an exchange would have saved them only 1.3 million.
Undrafted player in 2015, Collins has spent his entire career in Dallas where he quickly established himself as a starter. He had extended in 2019 for 5 seasons. At just 28, and with a reputation as a solid player despite an injury history, he shouldn’t be short of contenders in a league where tackles are a hot commodity.
