It was the 49ers’ number one need this offseason. John Lynch was therefore activated on the position of cornerback from the first day of free agency.
ESPN announces that San Francisco has signed Charvarius Ward for three seasons and a total fee of $42 million. Of this sum, 26.7 million are guaranteed.
The 26-year-old was a starter for the Chiefs in recent seasons. Notably a member of the title team against the 49ers, so he has good experience in big games.
Last season, Ward had 67 tackles, 2 interceptions and 10 passes defended.
