Eric Kay, former director of media relations for the Los Angeles Angels, was convicted of distributing the drugs that killed Tyler Skaggs in July 2019.
A 12-person jury found that Kay did give the left-handed pitcher fentanyl and oxycodone, and that he was the one who supplied him with the fentanyl he choked on – leading when he died.
The 47-year-old will now face a minimum of 20 years in prison, with the possibility of life imprisonment in a federal institution. He can also receive a fine of one million dollars.
