Senators: 5-2 loss to the Blues; Matt Murray quits due to injury

Vladimir Tarasenko excelled with two goals and an assist as the St. Louis Blues beat the Ottawa Senators 5-2 on Tuesday night at the Canadian Tire Centre.

Tim Stutzle and Parker Kelly scored for the Senators, who are 17-25-4 this season.

Matt Murray stopped 27 of 31 shots he faced before leaving in 3and period due to injury. Anton Forsberg replaced him and made four saves during his time in net.

Robert Thomas also had three points for the winners with a goal and two assists.

Brayden Schenn opened the scoring in the duel. Over the past five games, Schenn has four goals and four assists.

Ville Husso made 18 saves to allow the Blues (28-14-5) to win. Oskar Sunqvist also found the back of the net for the Blues.

Clark Bishop collected his first point of the season with the Senators.

Ottawa will be back in action Thursday night to face the Sabers in Buffalo.

Thomas Chabot missed the game after he was unable to finish Sunday night’s game against the Washington Capitals after being checked by Tom Wilson.

It was the former Canadian, Victor Mete, who took his place in the training.
