Miami offers a real contract to Caleb Martin | NBA

Since the transfer of KZ Okpala to OKC, the leaders of Miami had two free places in their workforce. There is now only one left vacant, since Caleb Martin was signed until the end of the 2021/22 financial year.

At 26, the former Hornets winger (twin brother of Cody, still in Charlotte) is therefore rewarded for his good performances this season, he who is currently averaging 9.5 points and 4.0 rebounds, 51% on shots and 38% at 3-pts (in 23 minutes). It was up to now in a “two-way contract”.

But under Erik Spoelstra, and in rotation with Jimmy Butler, Duncan Robinson and PJ Tucker, Caleb Martin didn’t take long to establish himself as one of Florida’s most effective substitutes. Solid and combative, he notably acted as interim on the wing, when the Heat had to deal with several absences, between November and January.

To the point of forcing the “front office” of the South Beach franchise to offer him this real contract he was waiting for so much.
