Wolves calm as trade deadline approaches | NBA

Defeated last night by Kings reinvigorated by the arrival of Domantas Sabonis, the Timberwolves failed to win a sixth consecutive game (which would have been a first for the club since… 2004).

However, as the fateful hour of the “trade deadline” approaches (3 p.m. in the US, 9 p.m. in France), the decision-makers of the franchise are calm, as are the players and the staff.

And there is reason: for the first time since the 2017/18 season, the year of their last qualification in the playoffs, the Minneapolis club is in a position to qualify for the playoffs at the “deadline”. No reason, therefore, to upset the balance established since the start of the season. Chris Finch’s group is doing well enough.

We’re really, really happy with our guys right now, and not just their production on the pitch, but the overall spirit of this group. there is something strongliked the Wolves manager. ” We’re focusing on those guys, and we’re not necessarily looking to make any big changes.

According to Sachin Gupta, the club’s interim GM after Gersson Rosas was ousted in September, Wolves will play it safe. ” I would say we are long term buyers. he explained.

It’s a fairly logical position: still acting for the position, the decision-maker does not want to take the risk of sacrificing future “assets” just to improve the group simply at the end of the season. Wolves, and it’s rare enough to be underlined, have a model that works on the field during this campaign, and we must now succeed in duplicating it in the future, without wasting any ammunition.
