Stuck in a complicated season, the Lakers are obviously looking to strengthen themselves by Thursday. Their room for maneuver is very narrow, and only two players would be likely to interest the competition: Talen Horton-Tucker and Kendrick Nunn. Several media, including MassLivereport that Rob Pelinka, the president of the Lakers, has thus contacted the Celtics by offering them “THT” and a future draft choice to recover Josh Richardson. Boston did not respond.
Inexpensive ($11.6 million salary), Richardson is also of interest to Jazz and Wolves with his “3-and-D” profile. But the Celtics would not necessarily be decided to part with it. Firstly because the team seems to have found the right formula in 2022 with 12 wins in the last 16 matches.
Then because the versatility of Richardson is very appreciated by his staff. In attack, he can play on positions 2 and 3, and he can help out at the lead behind Marcus Smart and Dennis Schroder. In defense, he can defend on any outside, and it is also very significant.
For the moment, Boston does not flinch, but perhaps a first round of Draft could crack them. Unless Wolves’ offer, which would include Malik Beasley, is enough to make them crack. Contact would be made.
